06 February, 2026

On February 6, political consultations were held in Phnom Penh between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Armenia and the Kingdom of Cambodia, co-chaired by Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Armenia Mnatsakan Safaryan and Secretary of State of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the Kingdom of Cambodia Meas Kim Heng.

The sides discussed a wide range of issues of the bilateral agenda, in particular the prospects for developing and enhancing cooperation in the political, inter-parliamentary, trade and economic, investment, educational, cultural, tourism, and technological fields.

The parties noted with satisfaction the existing level of collaboration within multilateral platforms and positive dynamics thereof. In this context, the sides touched upon the possibilities of cooperation within the framework of the 17th Conference of the Parties to the UN Convention on Biological Diversity (COP17) and the 20th Francophonie Summit.

The Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Armenia and the State Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of Cambodia also exchanged views on regional issues, within the context of which Mnatsakan Safaryan presented the latest developments in the South Caucasus, the efforts aimed at the further institutionalization of the established peace and developing regional connectivity, including the adoption of the implementation framework of the “TRIPP” project and ongoing processes.

The Deputy Minister also visited the Tuol Sleng Genocide Museum in Phnom Penh.
