Ambassador Vahram Kazhoyan's meeting with Mr. Khampheng Duangthongla, Director General of the Europe and Americas Department of the Foreign Ministry of the Lao People's Democratic Republic.

Vahram Kazhoyan Ambassador of the Republic of Armenia to the Lao People's Democratic Republic (with residence in Hanoi) had a meeting with Mr. Khampheng Duangthongla, Director General of the Europe and Americas Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Lao People's Democratic Republic in the framework of his working visit to Laos on December 4, 2023.

The counterparts discussed the development and deepening of cooperation between Armenia and Laos in the political, trade-economic, cultural, tourism, and other spheres representing mutual interest, the organization of mutual visits of delegations, including on high-level, the establishment of the Laos-Armenia friendship association, the expansion of the legal base between the countries and other issues during the meeting.

The interlocutors also exchanged ideas on the current situation around Armenia and Nagorno-Karabakh. Ambassador Kazhoyan presented the current situation in the border regions of Armenia, as a result of Azerbaijan's aggression, blockade and ethnic cleansing carried out against the population of Nagorno-Karabakh, as well as the details of the current condition of the people forcibly displaced from their thousand-years homeland, and are currently residing in Armenia.

The parties agreed to speed up the process of finalizing the work on the pending documents and sign the already agreed agreement and memoranda of understanding at the soonest opportunity.
