Meeting between the Ambassador of the Republic of Armenia to the Socialist Republic of Vietnam Vahram Kazhoyan and Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam Mr. Dang Hoang An.

Ambassador of the Republic of Armenia to the Socialist Republic of Vietnam Vahram Kazhoyan had a meeting with the Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, Co-Chair of the Armenian-Vietnamese Joint Intergovernmental Commission on Trade and Economic Cooperation Mr. Dang Hoang An, on December 30, 2021.

During the meeting the parties discussed the development and expansion of cooperation between the two countries in the fields of trade, economy, tourism, education and science, the organization of the Second Session of the Armenian-Vietnamese Joint Intergovernmental Commission on Trade and Economic Cooperation and the Business Forum on its sidelines, during the second half of 2022. They also discussed organization of events dedicated to the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the Republic of Armenia and the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, as well as a number of other issues.

Ambassador Kazhoyan referred to the visit of the Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan to Vietnam in July 2019 and the agreements reached during the visit, among which were the creation of conditions for the import of Armenian products to Vietnam, in particular Armenian alcoholic drinks (namely brandy and wines), and the facilitation of obtaining Armenian visa for the citizens of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam.

During the meeting, the parties reached an agreement to start the preparatory works towards the organization of the Second Session of the Armenian-Vietnamese Joint Intergovernmental Commission and the sideline events in its framework.

The Deputy Minister expressed hope that the Armenian Co-Chair of the Armenian-Vietnamese Joint Intergovernmental Commission will be appointed soon, which will further accelerate the work.

During the meeting, the interlocutors referred to the trade turnover between the two countries, noting that the current volumes are not satisfactory and they do not correspond to the level of the current Armenian-Vietnamese political relations and that it was necessary to take steps to increase the volume of trade turnover.

Ambassador of the Republic of Armenia presented the range of Armenian products that Armenia could be exported to Vietnam, and that are of high demand on the Vietnamese market, at the same time noting that the Armenian businessmen were also interested in importing a large number of Vietnamese products to Armenia.

Second Secretary of the Embassy of the Republic of Armenia Mr. Aramazd Muradyan and the Deputy Head of the European-American Market Development Department of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam Mrs. Nguyen Khan Ngok took part in the meeting with the Deputy Minister of Industry of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam Dang Hoang An.
