Official ceremony of the presentation of the Letters of Credence of H.E. Mr. Vahram Kazhoyan, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Armenia to the Republic of the Philippines (with residence in Hanoi)

Official ceremony of the presentation of the Letters of Credence of H.E. Mr. Vahram Kazhoyan, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Armenia to the Republic of the Philippines (with residence in Hanoi) to the Ambassador of the Republic of the Philippines in Vietnam H.E. Mr. Meynardo LB MONTEALEGRE, took place at the Residence of the Ambassador of the Republic of the Philippines, on December 7, 2021.

The presentation of the Letters of Credence in such a format was conditioned by the spread of COVID-19, the continuing lockdown in the Philippines and the closed air traffic between Vietnam and the Philippines.

The official ceremony of the presentation of the Letters of Credence was followed by the meeting, during which the parties discussed the possibilities of further development and strengthening of bilateral cooperation between Armenia and the Philippines, in the spheres of mutual interest, as well as in the framework of international organizations, the possibilities of expansion of the bilateral legal framework, trade-economic relations and trade turnover between the two countries, possibilities of the development of tourist and cultural ties and the prevention of COVID-19, and number of other issues.

Ambassador Montealegre, welcoming his Armenian counterpart, stressed that the originals of the Armenian Ambassador's Letters of Credence and his predecessor’s Letters of Recall will be sent immediately by diplomatic pouch to the office of the President of the Republic of the Philippines H.E. Mr. Rogrigo Duterte.

During the meeting, Ambassador Kazhoyan expressed hope that in the near future, after the improvement of the pandemic situation, he will be able to visit the Republic of the Philippines in person, in order to meet the President of the Republic of the Philippines Rodrigo Duterte, Prime Minister, Foreign Minister and other high-ranking officials of the Philippines’ Governement.

During the meeting, Ambassador Kazhoyan offered to examine the possibilities of expanding the legal framework between the two countries and accordingly, to sign required new agreements and memoranda in the areas of mutual interest.

Aramazd Muradyan, Second Secretary of the Embassy of the Republic of Armenia and Jose Santiago F. Olaguera, Third Secretary of the Embassy of the Philippines participated in the official ceremony of the presentation of the Letters of Credence and the follow-up meeting.
