Ambassador Vahram Kazhoyan's Working Visit to Laos.

Ambassador of the Republic of Armenia to the Lao People’s Democratic Republic (with residence in Hanoi) Vahram Kazhoyan had a working visit to Laos on May 5-7, 2023.

During his visit, Ambassador Kazhoyan had meetings with Mr. Khampheng Duangthongla, Director General of the Europe and America Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Lao People’s Democratic Republic and Mr. William Dongshvan, Managing Director of the C.E.O Import & Export Sole Co., LTD.

During the meeting with Mr. Khampheng Duangthongla, Director General of the Europe and America Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Lao People’s Democratic Republic, the parties discussed the development and deepening of cooperation between Armenia and Laos in political, economic, cultural, tourism, as well as other spheres representing mutual interest, organization of mutual visits of high-level and other delegations, the establishment of the Laos-Armenia friendship association, the expansion of the legal field and other issues.

The interlocutors also exchanged thoughts on the current situations in their respective regions. Ambassador Kazhoyan presented the situation in the border areas of Armenia with Azerbaijan, in Nagorno-Karabakh, and as a result of the illegal blockade of the Lachin Corridor by Azerbaijan, as well as the human rights violations by Azerbaijan. He also informed Mr. Duangthongla about the destruction of Armenian cultural heritage in the territories under the Azerbaijani control, and presented the negative consequences of Azerbaijan's aggression against the internationally recognized borders of Armenia.

Representatives of the Department of Europe and America of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Laos Mr. Kham Phaeng, and Armenia desk officer Mr. Naluveth Lattanaviseth, also participated in the meeting.

During the meeting with Mr. William Dongshvan, Managing Director of the C.E.O Import & Export Sole Co., LTD, Ambassador Kazhoyan discussed the issues of increasing the volume and assortment of Armenian alcoholic beverages, particularly Armenian wines and fruit vodkas, from Armenia to Laos.

The company has been importing Ararat cognacs to Laos since December 2022. The interlocutors agreed to jointly organize the official presentation of Ararat cognacs in Laos in Autumn of 2023.

Ambassador Kazhoyan, accompanied by William Dongshvan, visited a number of stores where Ararat cognacs are sold in Vientiane and where they are properly displayed and advertised.

Ms. Tam Nguyen, Assistant of the Embassy of the Republic of Armenia accompanied Ambassador Kazhoyan during his visit to the Lao People's Democratic Republic.
